It looks like a 2018 Ford Mustang Bullitt edition with that iconic dark green paint is back and here’s a spy photo to prove it.

It’s been rumored that Ford would bring back the Bullitt name ever since it was revived back in 2001 and then again in 2008 and now we have actual physical proof that there’s going to be a Bullitt edition for the 6th generation Ford Mustang. According to a keen-eyed auto enthusiast in Chicago on his Facebook post in Chicagoland petrolheads and car spotters earlier yesterday (Dec. 4, 2017) he noticed a car commercial being shot with a distinctly shaded dark green 2018 Ford Mustang prepped for video and photo duties. Although we only have a dark green silhouette side shot of this potential Bullitt Mustang, it’s also already rumored that Ford is going to introduce this exact same car at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show kicking off early next year, further adding to the validity of this photo. Check out that “spy” shot below.

And the Bullitt has been spotted!!! #2018bullitt #bullitt

There are a couple of key styling cues that lead us to believe this is the real deal. First of all, there are no visible badges like the 5.0 badge found on the GT, just like Bullitt’s before. Youtuber Matt Moran also pointed out what looks like Torque Thrust wheels on each corner, a classic cornerstone to a unique Bullitt look. Finally, there’s the color. There’s no other Ford Mustang that can truly wear that color if it isn’t a Bullitt.

When Ford reintroduced the Bullitt package back in 2008, they made sure that the Bullitt didn’t just get an appearance package upgrade with badge deletes, scoops and spoilers and a faux gas cap on the trunk. Ford made sure that they added at least 15 HP and a host of suspension upgrades that made the Bullitt a coveted package straight from the dealership. I imagine Ford will treat this Bullitt around the same with a slightly upgraded V8 engine found in the GT. The GT is already capable with 460 HP and 420 lb-ft so I’m intrigued by how Ford will top that.

If this photo gets enough attention, perhaps Ford will put out some press release ahead of the Detroit Auto Show just to get ahead of the hype.
