A Porsche Macan driver insists she stayed in her lane despite dashcam footage showing otherwise.

Bay Area resident and Redditor /u/MAKEOUTHILL_01 shared dashcam footage from Sunnyvale from earlier last week (Oct 25, 2024) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit (as well as other subreddits) showing a driver in her Porsche Macan clipping a fast-approaching Honda Civic as she dangerously drifted into adjacent traffic.

She maintains she wasn’t at fault despite seeing the dashcam footage for herself.

The incident happened 700 block of S Fair Oaks Ave in Sunnyvale, CA (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As his dashcam footage shows, OP is driving along S Fair Oaks Ave and passes through the intersection with El Camino Real.

In front of him, you can see a driver in a Porsche Macan merging into traffic from a nearby shopping center.

OP comments that she told him she just drank BOBA, most likely coming from the newly opened Molly Tea 茉莉奶白.

Suddenly, the driver in the Macan begins to, what looks like, make a U-turn as OP and adjacent traffic fast approach.

The driver in the Macan clips the front of a silver Honda Civic, damaging its front as well as the fender on their Macan pretty severely.

“I showed the Porche owner the footage and she said that she stayed in her own lane the whole time, despite what we both saw.”

There appeared to be a dog in the Honda Civic.

“Unfortunately, the man’s (driver in the silver Honda Civic) dog was injured =(“

OP says he’s since shared his dashcam footage with the victim and police so, the Macan driver will find it near impossible to not claim responsibility.

Thankfully, she at least stuck around and didn’t run like a lot of other drivers who cause accidents I’ve come across as of late.

Hopefully, this is a wake-up call for that Macan driver and anyone else who comes across this dashcam footage to pay 100% attention behind the wheel.

This could’ve turned out a whole lot worse.

Now, that driver in a Civic is probably out of a ride for a couple of days, presuming that’s their only ride.

And both now have several weeks of insurance back and forth to look forward to.
