Dashcam captures both idiots speeding moments before their collision.
Maryland commuter and Redditor /u/BondJW07 shared headshaking I-95 dashcam footage from earlier on Black Friday (Nov 29, 2024) showing the aftermath of a Lexus IS and Tesla Model Y chasing each other at high speed.
Check out the inevitable crash and who they roped in as an innocent victim in OP’s dashcam footage below.
[OC] Someone ruined their Black Friday

The incident happened on I-95 just before Exits 29 A and 29B towards Beltsville and Calverton (exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As OP’s dashcam footage shows, he’s driving along in Lane #2 when a driver in a Red Lexus IS blows by him.
Following hot on the Lexus’s heels is a blue Tesla Model Y.
The speed limit on this stretch of I-95 is 65 MPH.
Although OP’s dashcam doesn’t capture the crash, around 10 seconds, you can sort of make out what we later find out is a grey Ford EcoSport move suddenly to the left and into a breakdown lane.
Traffic moves out of the way revealing the Lexus IS smashed into the freeway barrier on the left, both its front and rear end damaged and collapsed in.
Besides the EcoSport, the Tesla Model Y is shown moving into a breakdown lane.
Further down, a driver in a silver Toyota RAV-4 also pulled into the breakdown lane.
While the Lexus IS suffered the largest amount of damage, the fate of the other drivers and their vehicles is unclear.
“I’m not sure the Tesla was involved in the collision, but I do think the silver SUV (Toyota RAV4) on the right shoulder at the very end took some damage. You can see them walking around the car checking it.”
What most likely happened is either the EcoSport or RAV4 accidentally ran into the back of the Lexus of no fault of their own either because the Lexus suddenly braked or a collision was unavoidable.
This sent the Lexus careening into a freeway barrier, landing where it’s shown.
Regardless of how much damage each of the other drivers and individual vehicles suffered, it’s clear this multi-car collision was avoidable had the Lexus and Tesla drivers not been such idiots behind the wheel.
In Maryland, if cited, speeding resulting in a collision is charged as a failure to control speed to avoid an accident, which carries a maximum fine of $500 and three points on your driving record.
“Both of these d***heads should have their licenses suspended for at least a year,” /u/CheeseToast9 commented.
“Bro was flying down that right lane like a damned meteor,” /u/EatLard added.
“I hope that it was worth it,” /u/WiteKngt sarcastically replied.
While the outcome of each collision is unclear, one thing’s for sure, it’s going to take a lot of back and forth from their respective insurances to sort out properly.
As mentioned, all this was unavoidable and unnecessary.
