It couldn’t be more obvious to this Portland Cop that this driver in a black Ford F-150 was road raging and brake checking.

Portland commuter and Redditor /u/RobertBoyeaCeramics shared headshaking-turned-instant karma dashcam footage from Portland earlier this December (Dec 9, 2024) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a driver in a black Ford F-150 immediately getting pulled over after Portland police observed them aggressively brake checking OP.

The incident happened along the 10400 block of NE Halsey St. in Portland (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As the dashcam video shows, we’re not sure what happened before the footage began, but we can see a driver in a fairly new Black Ford F-150 swing into the other lane and overtake OP.

As a commenter I quoted below points out, the speed limit in this area drops to 20 MPH.

It’s clear the driver had a chip on their shoulder as he immediately throws a brake check-in as soon as he cuts in front of OP.

Less than half a minute later, not only does he brake check, hard, but comes to a complete stop.

As karma would have it, a Portland Cop in their cruiser sees it all play out, puts on their reds and blues, and pulls the truck over.

The road rager turns left onto NE 106th Ave followed by the cop and OP who I presume provided a statement and tipped the officer off of the footage he has.

Brake Checking in OR is taken seriously and is classified as a Class B traffic violation, subject to a maximum $1000 fine.

“Truck driver drank too much dumbf*** juice,”/u/seansking aptly put.

“Yes!!!! NE Halsey Street in Portland OR! Speed limit drops from 30MPH to 20MPH for a short stretch and many drivers turn into a**holes. I’m SO happy to see some justice here,” /u/TheLastLugnut added.

“I was like wow would be cool if a convenient cop showed up, then noticed page name lol… hurrrdurrr,” /u/Major-Potential-354 humorously replied.

If you ever get angry over someone driving slow around you, take a lesson from this idiot driver and take a moment to ask yourself, “Is the speed limit that slow around here?”

If it is, well, ease off the gas pedal.

And, if it isn’t, road raging back solves nothing.
