This dashcam owner saw a driver blow through a nearby stop sign, then saw as instant justice was doled out.
Portland commuter and Redditor /u/Panascal shared a case of instant justice from the Woodland neighborhood of Portland from earlier in December (Dec 11, 2024) showing a driver in a VW Jetta blowing through a nearby stop sign then seeing them pulled over by Portland area police shortly thereafter.
Check out /u/Panascal’s dashcam footage and Reddit thread linked below.
[USA] Bucko ran the stop sign to save some time

The incident happened at the intersection of NE Lombard Place and NE Lombard St in Portland (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As the dashcam footage shows, OP is driving along Lombard St when he approaches the slip-through road that is Lombard Place.
Before cars can merge onto Lombard St, they must come to a complete stop thanks to a Stop Sign (as seen here.)
For some reason, many other Redditors, myself included, chalk up to blatantly disregarding a traffic control device on purpose, a driver in a black VW Jetta straight blows through the sign without stopping.
Had OP arrived half a second earlier, the Jetta would’ve collided with him.
In frustration at the near collision, OP blasts his horn at the driver.
The driver would’ve gotten away with it had it not been for a convenient cop, Portland area police, who saw it all go down in their Police Interceptor.
An observant officer puts on their reds and blues and pulls the Jetta over.
“More than likely, they run that sign every morning,” /u/Go_Gators_4Ever commented.
“The cop stopped not only the driver but also all the commenters who were going to say “I don’t see the big deal”,” /u/SometingIWontRegret added.
“Ah, Portland Expressway and 11th. Yup, that’s normal for that intersection. People turn right there and cross the tracks and don’t stop for the stop sign either. But at least they lowered the speed limit from 45 to 35 so now people are driving 55 instead of 65,” local /u/hows_bout_dat replied.
