Jay’s Tree Service, based in Roanaoke, is aware of the situation, issued a statement, and is cooperating with police in their investigation.
Roanoke driver and Redditor /u/MrBak3r shared shocking dashcam footage from earlier this weekend(Nov 1, 2025) from Highway 24 to the /r/RoadCam subreddit showing a service truck owned by a Roanoke-based business, driving into and colliding with another driver in a Chevrolet Cruze, causing that Cruze to lose control and flip multiple times before coming to a stop on the other side of the highway.
The service truck is owned by Jay’s Tree Service on Plantation Rd. NE
Check out the dashcam footage embedded below with the original Reddit thread linked here.
The main collision happened in the 16000 block of State Highway 24 in Vinton (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As the dashcam shows, OP is driving along the 24 when he’s passed by a driver in a silver Chevrolet Cruze who, we later find out, has 3 other occupants, two being children.
Shortly after, the Cruze gets into the slow lane and is passed by a driver in a service truck owned by Jay’s Tree Service.
The service truck then suddenly steers into the slow lane and collides with the driver in the Cruze.
Many Redditors are saying this looks like it was done intentionally in an act of road rage.
The Cruze loses control and flips multiple times before landing on the other side of the highway.
The driver in the service truck flees the scene, turning his collision into a hit-and-run.
As reported by WSET News (ABC 13,) firefighters responded to the scene and assisted all four occupants (driver included) and treated them for minor injuries.
As for the hit-and-run, the dashcam owner informed us that the State Police are in possession of the dashcam video, and it appears that an investigation is moving forward to find and charge the driver accordingly.
Within the hour that the Reddit dashcam video hit the internet, Jay’s Tree Service’s social media pages, including their Google Reviews, were inundated with comments and reviews letting the owner know what they thought of the driver.
In response, the owner of Jay’s Tree Service issued a statement letting everyone know the driver was immediately fired and they are cooperating with the police.
Here’s the statement verbatim.
“We’ve seen the video that’s been circulating, and we were shocked and heartbroken by what we saw. The driver in that video was identified immediately and is no longer employed by us. All information has been turned over to law enforcement, and we are fully cooperating with the investigation. Most importantly, we are deeply grateful that the family involved is okay. When we saw the video, our first reaction was concern for their safety and well-being and our heartfelt thoughts remain with them. Safety is everything to us. Our work is about helping people, removing dangerous trees, responding to storm damage, and keeping families safe. Seeing one of our vehicles involved in something like this goes against everything we stand for. The actions of this former employee were his alone and do not reflect the values or conduct of our team. We share in the community’s concern, and we only ask that people allow the legal process to move forward and refrain from harassing or threatening our team, who in no way support the alleged actions of this individual.”
In Virginia, a hit‑and‑run that involves injury or damage to property can be charged as a Class 5 felony — punishable by up to 10 years in prison and fines. (The Law Office of Peter John Louie)
Similarly, aggressive driving (which often covers road‑rage collisions) can be charged as a Class 2 misdemeanor (up to 6 months jail and up to a $1,000 fine) or a Class 1 misdemeanor if there was intent to injure (up to 12 months jail and up to a $2,500 fine). (andrewflusche.com)
