Driver in a Toyota Tacoma, not paying attention, runs red light more than 7 seconds after it turned, almost causing a gigantic, multi-car collision.

Downtown Fort Worth area driver and Redditor /u/Miscellaneousbean shared shocking dashcam footage from earlier in December (Dec 12, 2025) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a driver in his Tacoma, who likely spaced out, running an extremely late red light by over 7 seconds, almost causing a multi-car collision.

Check out the close call below with the original Reddit thread linked here.

The incident happened at the intersection of W Belknap St. and N Houston St. (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As the dashcam shows, OP is driving on N Houston St. on a Friday, a few minutes before midnight.

As he approaches the aforementioned intersection, both directions of traffic have the red.

A couple of seconds later, they get the green and proceed across the intersection.

Suddenly, a driver in a Toyota Tacoma approaches from the left more than 7 seconds after his light turned red.

Thankfully, the drivers in the row of vehicles in front of OP were paying attention and they all brake in time, narrowly avoiding what would’ve been one massive multi-car collision.

The driver nearest to the Tacoma avoids T-boning them by less than a foot.

“Good job, everyone paying attention,” the top comment from /u/Chrisman614 reads.

“Yep! Very glad the person in front of me didn’t rush into the intersection. Tons of red light runners around here,” OP replied.

“This should be upvoted more solely because of the fact all three people reacted so well. From my experience, most people are only paying attention to what’s happening a few feet directly ahead of them,” /u/John4844 added.

In Fort Worth, Texas, running a red light is a moving violation that can cost up to around $200 in fines plus court costs and is reported as a Class C misdemeanor that typically adds 2 points to your driving record. (myimprov.com)
