Elderly driver came to a late stop, past the limit line, almost running over a Grandma. If that wasn’t enough, she proceeded to back into them, too.

Portland-area commuter and Redditor /u/BaconAccessories shared headshaking dashcam footage from this busy intersection from earlier in March (Mar 24, 2026) showing this careless Grandma in a Toyota Corolla completely blowing past the limit line and almost taking out two pedestrians.

Check out the dashcam footage embedded below with the original Reddit thread linked here.

The incident happened at the intersection of SE 122nd Ave and SE Division St. (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As the dashcam shows, OP is stopped, pointed northbound on 122nd Ave.

A Grandson and Grandma can be seen walking past him in the crosswalk.

Suddenly, an elderly woman driver in a Toyota Corolla comes up to the right, ready to make a right on red, but blows past the limit line and across the pedestrians’ direction of travel.

A second later, and the elderly driver would’ve hit either of them.

If that wasn’t bad enough, when the grandson and his grandma attempt to go around the back of the Corolla, the elderly woman driver decides that was the best time to hit reverse.

She nearly hits them, again.

Thankfully, they don’t get hit, and they resort to going in front of the Corolla, where they can be seen.

“Damn, I missed them, maybe I can hit ’em in reverse…,” the top comment from /u/12stringplayer reads.

“She was still in reverse when my light turned green, too. Luckily there was no one behind her or I’m sure she would have gone for the hat trick,” OP responded.

“That’s about as bad as you can get. I vote automatic DMV retest,” /u/TheBigJiz added.

In Oregon, blowing past the limit line and endangering pedestrians can be cited as a traffic violation like failure to stop/yield, typically carrying a fine in the $200–$400 range depending on the county. It usually adds 2 points to your driving record. If pedestrians were put at serious risk, it could be elevated to careless or reckless driving with higher fines and possible license consequences.
