A couple of very important details have leaked about the Tesla Model 3. A 0-60 MPH time and a possible range have been revealed.
If there’s one thing for certain about the Tesla Model 3 when it finally drops is that it’ll be darn right quick for a small car and will have a decent range for an electric vehicle. According to a member of the Model 3 Owner’s club forum who has an inside source in Tesla on their post earlier today (May 24, 2017) a handy chart revealing a couple of talking points comparing the Tesla Model 3 and the Tesla Model S reveal some important details that people waiting for the Model 3 want to know. Check out that inforgaphic below.

First, there’s the speed. 0-60 MPH comes in at 5.6 seconds. Thanks to the inherent nature of electric vehicles to be quick off the line, this isn’t a surprise. In comparison, the Tesla Model S can snag 60 MPH in the two second range without breaking a sweat.
Then there’s the range. 215 miles comes courtesy of a smaller battery pack compared to the Tesla Model S. No surprise there. Keen eyes will notice (+) sign next to 215. With production of the Tesla Model 3 starting sometime this summer and deliveries going to the majority of reservation holders by mid-2018, battery technology is still in a flux, in a good way of course. 215 miles is a conservative guess and depending on how heavy you are on the go-pedal, we won’t be surprised if a Tesla Model 3 can drop more than 215 miles of range in one go.
Storage is less than half of the Model S at 14 cu. ft of space compared to the Model S’s 30 cu ft. If you’re going on a trip, you’re going to pack light.
As revealed before, Tesla Model 3’s can use Tesla’s supercharging network, but you’ll have to pay to play. Some keen-eyed Tesla Model S owner already spotted one topping off at a supercharging station earlier in the week.
Love my #Tesla S70D! Today while Supercharging I found #Model3 #TeslaModel3 doing the same thing! Can't wait 4 1? https://t.co/SjEhR9w40s pic.twitter.com/Y2LuAaAj88

With these talking points being officially unofficial, nothing is set in stone. But then again, these details should give prospective owners an idea of what to expect. Tesla is certainly committed to producing the Model 3 and delivering them to reservation holders in a timely manner. Building and producing thousands of units of a car is no small feat. But if anyone can pull it off, we can put our money on Tesla.
