If you’re tired of scrounging around classifieds, paying top dollar for scratched up and dented BuddyClub Spec 2’s, worry not, they’re back.

For lightness, track-ready performance and an exhaust note that’ll wake the dead, nothing can beat the Buddy Club Spec 2. And if you’ve been hankering for a Spec II and would rather get a new one, you’re in luck! According to BuddyClub USA on their social media earlier this week (Mar. 20, 2018) they announced that their popular Spec 2 Exhaust is back in stock for 1992-2000 Honda Civic Coupes and Sedans. Yes, those Golden age Hondas can now sport a fresh, period correct exhaust that solidified its reputation on the track. Check out their official announcement below!

As you can see in the post above, the MSRP for this exhaust will run you $550, which is par for the course for a full cat-back system. For that half a G, you get a system that’s all-stainless-steel in construction from the intermediate pipe all the way to the tip of the axle back.

With a piping diameter of 2.5 inches, this exhaust is already great if you plan to make big power numbers and want something that’s literally a straight through design.

I’ll probably make a separate article about how this Spec 2 is not just straight pipe but it really isn’t. Although you spend a lot, there are some key design features like BC’s spring hook type connector between the pipes, their intermediate silencer with torque bulge on the mid pipe and their mini-muffler AKA tip silencer that quiets decibels by a smidge. And in all honesty, you’ll be glad to know they’ve welded that Buddy Club badge at the end of the exhaust tip for that important street cred.

Besides its clean look, most people will shell out the dough for this exhaust strictly for the sound. You either love it or hate it. I’ve embedded a couple of videos below so you can see what I mean.

The key phrase in Buddy Club’s description is

…Developed strictly for competition use.

…even though 99 percent of Spec 2 owners won’t track their cars.

Keep in mind that if you’re not careful, you will get a fix-it ticket, it’s so loud.

But for now, if you want a new one, go get one! They’ll go fast.
