A simple car crash turned into tragedy for both drivers.

You’d think that an early Sunday morning accident in a traffic-free part of the freeway would end up with both parties working things out like normal adults but such was not the case. According to the Sacramento Bee on their report on this tragedy from earlier yesterday (Aug. 12, 2018) two men involved in an early morning accident decided to take it out on each other, literally, with one ending up dead from blunt force trauma and the other dying after getting struck by a car after the fight.

The accident happened on a Northbound stretch of Interstate 5 that runs through Natomas near Sacramento, Calif. The details about the crash including the severity are slim to none but it was the collateral damage both men inflicted on each other that got people calling the police. Several motorists called in about a fight that stemmed from a collision, moving away from the first point of contact. Presumably, that means both cars continued driving on before both exited their vehicles and slugged it out.

According to police, in the resulting fight, one driver died from blunt force trauma inflicted by the other driver using some sort of instrument, most likely a bat, tire iron, or something wieldy in his vehicle. For some reason, shortly after killing the driver, the surviving driver started walking away down the interstate where he was struck by a car. Although it sounds like a suicide, that detail was not confirmed.

Details on what exactly happened or what caused both men to destroy each other is anyone’s guess. But for both drivers to handle the situation so poorly is disturbing.

According to the AAA, Road rage is definitely on the rise. Avoiding it all together should be your goal. That means leaving earlier than normal to avoid rushing, dropping any hints of road rage brewing within you at a moment’s notice, and taking control of your emotions.

If your anger stems from depression, asking for help is OK so you can come to grips with the root of your anger. It’ll save your life and possibly improve the lives of everyone who interacts with you.

Easier said than done but constantly reminding yourself that, “it isn’t worth it” never hurts and leave the revenge up to the police, whatever God you believe in, or sweet karma.
