A driver turning left from Jellison Way doesn’t realize he’s in the wrong when he gets angry traffic isn’t stopping to let him in.
Presumed Denver resident and Redditor /u/35364461a shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier from the tail end of December (Dec 27, 2024) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a driver making a left turn off of Jellison Way fail to realize he’s supposed to yield to traffic with the right of way.
Check out her dashcam footage embedded below with the original Reddit thread linked here.
As mentioned, the incident happened at the intersection of W Belleview Ave and Jellison Way (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As her dashcam footage shows, she’s on Belleview Ave when she approaches the intersection with Jellison Way and is forced to slam on her brakes to avoid T-boning a driver in a Ford Edge.
According to Texas’s Transporation Code TRANSP § 545.152,
“To turn left at an intersection or into an alley or private road or driveway, an operator shall yield the right-of-way to a vehicle that is approaching from the opposite direction and that is in the intersection or in such proximity to the intersection as to be an immediate hazard.”
Not only isn’t he oblivious to his plight, he’s mad.
You can see how upset he is when OP zooms in on his face.

Eventually, the oblivious driver finds an open pocket of traffic and crosses in front of OP.
In Texas, even if caught and even if you don’t cause a collision, failing to yield the right of way can result in a fine between $500 and $2000.
“I mean this sincerely and as nicely as possible, I think driving is too complicated for most people,” /u/Banned_From_Wendys aptly put it.
“Dude…if it’s so hard to cross that many lanes, take a right, go down to the next street, take a left and go around the damn block. Geezus,” /u/Sassenach101 suggested.
“I like how the person behind him even gave him room to back up. I would have laid on the horn the whole time,” /u/idontremembermyoldus pointed out.
As /u/idontremembermyoldus mentioned, if you come across a situation like this, as the defensive driver, it’s up to you to put as much distance between you and the person in the wrong.
Doing so mitigates your risk of getting roped into what could be a possible collision.
And, if you don’t know what’s so wrong with what the other driver is doing, you need to brush up on who has the right of way on left turns.
