Distracted, drunk, or otherwise, this driver was about to enter the Glendale Freeway the wrong way had this dashcam owner not stopped them right in their tracks.
CA-2 commuter and Redditor /u/Tallwalt shared dashcam footage from the Glendale area from earlier this January (Jan 22, 2025) showing a driver about to enter CA-2 going the wrong way, that is, if it wasn’t for the quick thinking and decisive action of OP.
Check out their dashcam footage below with their original Reddit thread linked here.

The incident happened on Exit 16 at the Colorado Blvd Broadway Exit on CA-2 (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As OP’s dashcam footage shows, he takes exit 16. Noteworthy, the time is 11:24 PM, so around midnight.
Halfway down the offramp, he notices the bright headlights of an approaching SUV.
Taking decisive action, OP drives towards the offending driver, flashing his high beams and honking at them.
The wrong-way driver gets the hint, realizes they’re going the wrong way, and makes a U-turn headed in the right direction.
Thankfully, nothing comes of the incident and everyone heads their respective ways.
“Most wrong-way drivers are drunk. You may have prevented a horrible tragedy,” /u/ax57ax57 pointed out.
According to a report by GOV COMM,
“Research indicates that nearly 60% of wrong-way driving crashes involve impaired drivers, with more than half of these individuals registering a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.08% or higher. “
“Yeah, I think they were drunk. It could have been deadly and I was ready to stop them if I had to. But I regret not following them now and calling the cops,” /u/tallwalt replied.
“Glad you stopped them. It is always frustrating when people just watch them drive onto the highway,” /u/SuperMIK2020 commented.
While it’s on a case-by-case basis whether you should intervene, getting in front of a wrong-way driver, you should call 9-1-1 if you come across one yourself.
Doing so, as mentioned, might be the difference between life and death.
