Dashcam footage from the Staten Island Expressway shows a semi truck driver going rogue on a driver in the worst way possible.

Staten Island Expressway commuter and Reddtior /u/Snaxsyss shared shocking dashcam footage from Staten Island from earlier this week (Mar 26, 2025) to the /r/RoadCam subreddit showing a semi truck driver with a trailer exacting his revenge on a dashcam owner by violently swerving back and forth in an unhinged road rage incident.

Check out his dashcam footage below with the original Reddit thread linked here.

The incident happened on the Staten Island Expressway in Staten Island (exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As OP’s dashcam footage shows, he’s driving in Lane #2 before the HOV lane, at which point he changes lanes into Lane #1.

A semi truck with trailer can be seen, without warning, violently swinging his rig into OP’s lane, effectively blocking him from overtaking.

OP almost rear-ends the semi’s trailer but slows in time.

OP immediately changes lanes again to overtake the semi.

Simultanously, the semi truck driver does a lane change while signaling combo in the path of OP, again.

Thanks to the semi’s weight and not the best maneuverability, the semi isn’t able to block OP.

OP speeds away in time, avoiding the road-raging semi-truck driver.

While many Redditors agreed in the comments, myself included, that there’s a prologue to this footage that might’ve explained the semi truck driver’s actions, most also agree that such a retaliatory move is unacceptable, especially considering semi truck drivers are the professionals.

“Obviously, something happened prior to this,” /u/SkakinEd commented.

“…I can’t say cammer is innocent, but nothing in this video warrants what the truck driver did. Should lose their license,” the top comment from /u/xMcRaeManx reads.

“Truckers that do this should have their CDL suspended and have to go through an anger management program to get it back. This is sickening. I should mention that my husband owns a small trucking company. This is why we have to get the million dollar insurance policies,” /u/fruitless7070 added.

Most certainly, the dashcam owner was involved in some kind of driving shenanigans immediately beforehand.

Regardless, a semi truck driver should know better.

In New York, reckless driving violators are subject to a fine $300 base fine + $93 in fees and five points on your driving record.
