This idiot cyclist might’ve saved a couple of seconds, but could’ve been injured badly, or worse.

Downtown Philly commuter and Redditor /u/ArgueWithYourCouch shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier in June (June 28, 2025) to the /r/Dashcam subreddit showing a cyclist riding up to a red light at an intersection and blazing right through it.

Check out their dashcam footage below with the original Reddit thread linked here.

The red light runner incident happened at the intersection of Broad St and Jackson (exact location on Google maps linked here).

As the dashcam footage shows, OP is on Broad St. and rolls up to the red light at Jackson.

In front of him is a cyclist, and, instead of stopping, we see the idiot thread the needle between traffic with the right of way, dodging a driver in a white Honda Accord as he “makes it” across.

Thankfully, the Accord driver slams on their brakes, too, making sure the cyclist doesn’t become a statistic.

Everyone makes it out of the situation unscathed but not without pissing off at least one or two drivers.

“And when they did get pancaked, they’d claim victim and scream ‘SHARE THE ROAD,’ the top comment from /u/NATURE_man)76 reads.

“Two facts can be true,” /u/Malvania commented.

  1. “Drivers generally get irrationally angry at cyclists. I’m a cyclist and I still get annoyed when they take the lane and slow everybody down, even if they have the right to it.”
  2. “This cyclist has a death wish. Even with Idaho stops for cyclists, this wouldn’t have been legal.”

“That biker’s luck ran out faster than their patience at a red light,” /u/Zealousideal_Pay7176 added.

Cyclists are not immune to red light tickets.

In PA, if caught in the act, that cyclist could’ve been hit with a fine up to $100 and, if a licensed driver, 3 points added on their record, too.
