Dashcam footage captures the near collision.
Fort Worth-area driver and Redditor /u/Exciting_Rooster9531 shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier last week (July 26, 2025) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a driver on Rendon Crowley making a massive driving mistake by attempting a U-turn from the wrong lane.
Check out the dashcam footage embedded below with the original Reddit thread linked here.
The near miss happened at the intersection of E Rendon Crowley Rd and South Freeway (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As the dashcam footage shows, OP begins to make a U-turn on Rendon Crowley in the left-most turn lane.
No signs prohibit a U-turn, so OP was certainly well within his rights to do so.
However, a driver in a GMC Yukon in the turn lane next to OP thinks they can legally make a U-turn, too.
Spoiler alert, you can’t.
Like most, if not all, US states, in Texas, U-turns are only allowed when it’s not prohibited and can be done safely and without interfering with traffic.
Turners not making a U-turn in OP’s lane would be an obvious obstruction to attempting a U-turn from lane #2.
They both do so at the same time, OP almost slamming into them shortly after realizing what they were attempting to do.
Thankfully, both stop in time, avoiding what would’ve been a headache of an accident.
“Not even the common courtesy of a turn signal while trying to mate with your car. /s,” the top comment from 11B-33T reads.
“Yikes! It’s wild we share the roads with these oblivious and/or distracted idiots every day… Have to drive like you’re in a frigging war zone just to run down the street to get some milk and bread,” /u/Jukka_Sarasti humoursly added.
“Good on you for prioritizing avoidance over honking!” /u/Scrappy_The_Crow pointed out.
In Burleson, like Fort Worth, an improper turn is a Class C misdemeanor, with violators subject to a fine of up to $200
I am from the area, and have driven on that road. The got with the dash cam was in the wrong. That is an intersection with a red light, the two left lanes are turning lanes to turn left. (You can see the broken white lines on the pavement) So the person in the white vehicle was doing what they were supposed to and the person with the dash cam was totally in the wrong!
