Crazy BMW driver had the nerve to follow it up by throwing the middle finger, too.
Middlesex County commuter and Redditor /u/VillateLate8993 shared some downright headshaking dashcam footage from earlier last week (Aug 6, 2025) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a piece of work in their BMW busting out onto Route 9 without yielding to traffic, OP included.
Not only did they almost cause a 100 percent preventable type of wreck, but they also had the audacity to flip OP the bird, too.
Check out this masterclass in careless, downright dangerous driving below with the original Reddit thread linked here.
The incident happened in the 300 block of U.S. Route 9 in Woodbridge, NJ (exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As OP’s dashcam footage shows, he’s travelling in the middle lane going about the speed limit (around 50 MPH.)
As he approaches the driveway of this Hampton Inn, a driver in a BMW can be seen approaching Route 9 and, without even the slightest bit of slowing, jumps out into traffic, a collision course set for OP.
Thankfully, OP has the defensive driving skills and presence of mind to dodge the imbecile while honking.
They come within inches of hitting.
Did the BMW driver apologize? No, they flipped OP off (screenshot below.)

“Usually, there’s a dumb reason for moves like this …I’m thinking that it was the dumba** move to try to merge alongside you into the right lane (1) but just severely understeered into the middle lane (2)? I like how they never even slowed down to enter the intersection, much less stop (3),” the top comment from /u/WhereYouGoThereUR reads.
“To be fair, that’s only a moderately Jersey move. The full Jersey move here would have been to go all the way into your lane. With maybe a brake check thrown in for good measure. 😂,” local /u/bkirchhoff pointed out.
“Taking a hand off the steering wheel in a situation like this to flick you off tells you everything you need to know,” /u/Hidden_Inventory_ pointed out.
In NJ, this is likely a violation of N.J.S.A. 39:4-66 — Entry onto Roadway
“No person shall start a vehicle which is stopped, standing, or parked unless and until such movement can be made with safety.”
Violators are subject to a fine of up to $100 before all the fees.
A ticketing officer also might hit the offender, like in this case, with a careless driving ticket, too, resulting in an additional $200 base fine and two points on your record.
This is from several years ago, the pizza hut is no longer there there’s chic filet there now, this is by the Hampton inn and Walmart, there is a lot going on in this area, many exits and entrances just be careful and always anticipate the unexpected.
