Had this dashcammer not stopped and looked both ways before proceeding, it could’ve ended differently.

Cass County commuter and Redditor /u/Emsanartist shared headshaking dashcam footage from West Fargo from earlier in August (Aug 13, 2025) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a semi driver hauling a dump trailer blast through this four-way stop without a hint of slowing.

Check out the dashcam footage below with the original Reddit thread linked here.

The incident happened at the intersection of ND-294 and 12th Ave NW (exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As the dashcam shows, OP approaches the aforementioned intersection from ND-294 and comes to a complete stop before the non-existent limit line, a point and warning he makes clear in the title.

To the left, coming from 12th Ave, a driver in a semi hauling a fairly large dump trailer approaches the intersection and blows through it without slowing.

Why he blew through it, your guess is as good as mine.

I don’t need to explain to you the physics of a semi truck with a trailer colliding with a regular vehicle, even a large-sized SUV, the aftermath ain’t pretty.

“Thank you for the PSA. Farm semis are the worst. Can’t tell if that was one or not,” the top comment from /u/nojusticenopeaceluv reads.

“Always be the smartest driver you can. No one else will, and you have to work extra hard to make up for it,” /u/ArgusTheCat reminded the thread.

“I see people blowing through this stop all the time, it really is crazy just how many people do it,” local /u/erdhed01 added.

While seemingly a basic defensive driving technique, stopping and looking both ways isn’t practiced as commonly as you’d think.

This video is a poignant reminder to start doing that if you aren’t already.

In North Dakota, running a stop sign is typically considered a moving violation with a standard fine of $40 and results in 2 demerit points on your driving record.
