Although this semi-truck driver was in the wrong, he took out his anger on his fellow driver and likely didn’t learn anything.

Long haul trucker and Redditor /u/BackBiter0723 shared some headshaking dashcam footage from earlier last week (Sept 16, 2025) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing the insane moment a fellow semi driver, carrying a load, miffed he was passed after being in the wrong, dangerously overtakes OP to the left to then get out of his truck and personally confront him.

Check out the insane close altercation below with the original Reddit thread linked here.

The incident happened as semi trucks and regular traffic exited I-81 onto PA-924 in Hazle Twp (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

What the dashcam footage shows is the aftermath of what happened directly before.

OP provides some important context.

“We were both turning left off 81N onto 924W in Hazle Twp, PA. There are two left-turn lanes, a narrow one on the inside of the turn for cars, and a clearly widened one on the outside of the turn for trucks. Trucks are required to use outer lanes when available for left-hand turns, so I positioned myself in the outer turn lane as required by law.”

Bird’s-eye view of the intersection in question.

Here’s the Bird’s Eye view of the turn lane in question. You can see a semi-truck with a trailer in the satellite view, illustrating the way OP says you’re supposed to turn if you’re hauling a large load.

“He (the other driver) did not, and took the inside turn lane. Since there was a car turning left onto the 81N ramp, he was unable to complete his turn without using both westbound lanes, one of which I was about to turn into. I slowed to see if he would go, but he stopped, so I proceeded past him. Then he did this at the next intersection.”

As the dashcam shows, the enraged semi driver in the wrong passes OP in the breakdown lane, blocks his way, and gets out to confront OP for whatever asinine reason.

OP, not wanting any more of this dude’s shenanigans, guns it out of there, and rightfully so.

“Hilarious to me that he does his little macho stroll over to you and you just drive around him like a traffic cone,” the top comment from /u/KittyAndPuppyMama reads.

“Well done, never engage with drivers that have no control over their emotions,” /u/JamesUpton87 concurred.

In Hazle Township, PA, if a semi driver engages in reckless driving to road rage and confront another trucker, they can be cited under Pennsylvania’s reckless driving law, which carries a mandatory fine of $200 and a 6-month license suspension. The violation also adds points to the driving record, increasing the risk of further license suspension if more accumulate. If the confrontation results in injury, reckless driving can escalate to criminal charges. On top of that, insurers usually hike insurance rates after a reckless driving conviction.
