In a rush to get nowhere in particular, only to come to a stop.

Bay Area commuter and Redditor /u/6StringsBass shared headshaking dashcam footage from the 13 from earlier last week (Sept 17, 2025) showing the moment this rush hour commuter went into “I’m cutting up traffic” mode, only to almost come to a complete stop and get passed by traffic, OP included, on the right.

Check out this bona fide NASCAR driver’s appearance on dashcam below, with the original Reddit thread linked here.

As mentioned, the incident happened on the 13, just before and right after the exit towards Piedmont (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As the dashcam shows, OP is in the left lane in the middle of rush hour traffic around 6 PM.

Suddenly, a driver in a Chevrolet Cruze starts cutting it up, weaving in and out of traffic in front of him, cutting him off, and then wildly swinging into the fast lane.

And what did all that wild driving earn him? Nothing, as traffic ground to a halt.

To top it off, OP and everyone else acting sane pass OP in the slow lane.

“Good thing he did that just to end up behind you again,” the top comment from /u/nachos3 reads.

“They are Very Important and have Very Important Places to be and can’t be slowed down by Unimportants like the car they swerved around. Moving forward that single car lets them get to their Very Important Place almost multiple seconds sooner. So, really, you’re the idiot here,” /u/BouncingSphinx sarcastically added.

“I love it when you are just on the chill right lane and just casually pass by the impatient dude tailgating on the left side, lmao. It’s the best feeling,” /u/dallodallo concurred.

In California, weaving in and out of traffic or straddling lane lines is prohibited under California Vehicle Code § 21658(a). This law requires drivers to stay within a single lane and move between lanes only when it can be done safely.

Violators face a fine of $238 before fees and one point if caught and cited by an observing officer.
