This lady had 3 business days to enter the intersection, yet did so at the worst possible time.

Sevier County commuter and Redditor /u/JCMatthews66 shared headshaking dashcam footage from US 441 from earlier in October (Oct 7, 2025) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a driver in a Honda CR-V exiting the Gatlinburg Welcome Center, crossing this busy intersection at the latest possible moment, almost causing their own T-bone accident.

Check out the dashcam footage embedded below with the original Reddit thread linked here.

As mentioned, the incident happened at the intersection of US-441 and the exit to the Gatlinburg Welcome Center, as drivers cross towards the other side of the parkway across the Legion Field Bridge (exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As the dashcam shows, OP is driving along US-441 when he approaches the aforementioned intersection.

There’s traffic in the left turn lanes backed up as drivers go, one by one, left towards the other side of the parkway.

Drivers exiting the Welcome Center and on the Legion Field Bridge have a stop sign, while drivers on US-441 have the right of way.

In the distance, we can see one driver in a white Honda CR-V drive up to the intersection and, instead of going, with plenty of time and space to make her move, she waits, for no particularly good reason.

Then, at the worst possible moment, as OP approaches, she finally dives into the intersection, causing OP to nearly emergency brake to avoid t-boning her.

“She was just looking straight ahead. I doubt she even knew. I didn’t have time to honk the horn,” OP replied to a comment from someone asking, “Is it a depth perception issue? A timing issue? A sight issue? Or just a dumba** issue?”

“The worst thing is she could’ve pulled out much earlier without making OP brake,” one of the top comments from /u/Otherwise-4PM reads.

“I was fully expecting the chaos to come from the stopped cars on your left,” //uStopSpinningLikeThatAdded.

In Tennessee, failing to yield the right of way can result in a fine of up to $50–$500 and 4 demerit points on your license, depending on the severity of the incident. (Tennessee Department of Safety)

  1. I live on the mountain above this intersection and cross there every day. One of the most dangerous intersections in Tennessee and possibly America. Too many cars from all directions trying to cross. Folks take chances during heavy traffic you would never get out. The National Park service I think has approved a fix for this with a flyover bridge. We need it done asap. Wrecks there every other day.
