Dashcam owner catches the unfortunate result of a dump truck driver crashing into the back of him after a no-look lane change goes wrong.
Douglas County driver and Redditor /u/Munsdee shared unfortunate rear dashcam footage from earlier in November (Nov 4, 2025) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a driver in a dump truck try to pull off a no-look lane change only to sideswipe another car, causing a multi-car collision that culminated in rear-ending OP’s truck.
Check out the dashcam footage embedded below with the original Reddit thread linked here.
The incident happened on Chapel Hill Rd, just past the I-20 overpass (Tom Murphy Freeway). Exact location on Google Maps linked here.
As the dashcam shows, OP is stopped on Chapel Hill Rd as traffic up ahead is backed up.
In his rear view, you can see a driver in a dump truck, seeing traffic next to him moving, attempting to change lanes to get out of their quickly.
Although he signals to change lanes, he misses the most important part, checking to see if it’s safe to do so.
A driver in a silver Kia happens to be passing just as he makes his lane change, resulting in him sideswiping the Kia, redirecting him into a Mercedes behind OP, ultimately ending in him rear-ending OP’s truck.
OP lets out an expletive, and understandably so.
To put this accident into context, this is supposedly the second accident OP had in 5 months.
On top of that, he just painted the truck and mounted new tires on it not too long ago.
This is what it looked like after fresh paint.

Reading through OP’s comments, it appears everyone made it out of the multiple collisions OK.
As for holding the no-look lane changer accountable, no look as, shortly after the accident, the driver and passenger fled.
“He fled on foot,” OP clarified.
“Unlicensed and undocumented… No one has had luck finding him despite his employer’s cooperation.
For what it’s worth, in light of and despite the responsible driver’s unlicensed and undocumented status,
…in Georgia, making a lane change without looking that causes an accident is typically cited as improper lane change or failure to maintain lane under O.C.G.A. §§ 40-6-123 or 40-6-48. The offense usually carries a fine around $200–$300 (up to $1,000 in some cases) and 3 license points, according to the Georgia Department of Driver Services. Accumulating 15 points within 24 months can lead to suspension (dds.georgia.gov).
