A careless driver exiting a neighborhood shopping center showed no signs of yielding at all.

Howard County driver and Redditor /u/somebody_throw_a_pie shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier in August (Aug 1, 2025) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a driver exiting this shopping plaza, brute forcing their way into traffic across both directions without a lick of yielding, almost causing a multi-car collision.

Check out their reckless move embedded below with the original Reddit thread linked here.

The incident happened along the 12000 block of Clarksville Pik,e right after the intersection with Ten Oaks Rd. (exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As the dashcam shows, OP is driving along Clarksville Pike at around 2 PM.

Suddenly, as he approaches the Clarksville Plaza shopping center, a driver in a black Subaru Outback exiting the driveway, with approaching traffic from both directions at less than 100 feet away, turns left…without yielding.

Traffic from both directions, OP included, emergency brakes to avoid hitting the Crosstrek.

Opposing traffic and OP avoid hitting them by several feet, by the skin of their teeth, when it comes to vehicles traveling 35 MPH.

If either of the drivers avoiding this loon didn’t brake in time, a multi-car collision would ensue.

“What the f*** was that?” OP exclaims, and rightfully so.

The Outback can be seen entering a left turn lane shortly after.

“Almost causing a collision on both sides of the road is quite impressive. Not particularly a way of driving I am a fan of though,” the top comment from /u/ATLQuon reads.

“Close your eyes, send it and pray,” /u/StevenG2757 humouredly quipped.

“The F-bomb was entirely justified,” /u/MrWobblyHead concurred with OP.

In Maryland, forcing your way into oncoming traffic to turn left can lead to reckless or negligent driving charges, carrying up to a $510 fine and six points, or an aggressive driving citation worth $370 and five points. Since the move also involves failure to yield while turning left, they could face an additional $110 fine and one point under Maryland Transportation Code §§ 21-403, 21-901.1, and 21-901.2.
