This Metro Transit Bus driver rolling a stop sign and not paying attention contributed to what could’ve been one disastrous collision.

Brooklyn Center commuter and Redditor /u/Uxt7 shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier on Black Friday (Nov. 28, 2025) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a Metro Transit driver being in a bit of a careless rush, running a stop sign, and not paying attention to traffic in front of them.

Check out the dashcam footage below with the original Reddit thread linked here.

As mentioned, the incident happened at the intersection of 56th Ave N and Xerxes Ave N (exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As the location on Maps shows, this is a four-way stop with stop signs clearly visible on all four corners.

In front of OP is a Ford truck towing a Jaguar sedan.

According to Minnesota Statutes, the truck appears to be towing the sedan, for the most part, legally.

I don’t see a marking or a white, red, yellow, or orange flag or cloth not less than 12 inches square in the middle of the tow rope, required when towing like this; however, our view is obscured by the sedan.

Before a Metro Transit bus to the left leaves its bus stop and approaches the stop sign, the driver towing the car has already turned.

However, the bus driver first rolls through the stop sign, and then incorrectly assumes there isn’t a towing situation going on, nearly running into the back of the truck as it makes its turn.

The driver being towed can be seen swerving onto the sidewalk, avoiding what could’ve been a multiple-vehicle accident.

“The bus did not come to a stop at a stop sign, and totally ignored the hazard signals. The car was being towed correctly. Fault is 100% on the bus, ” the top comment from /u/ANameLessTaken reads.

“When the bus blew the stop sign, they came pretty close to nailing the blue car, too! Always amazed how quickly folks find the intersection and post it up! Definitely looks like the bus is at fault,” /u/12DrD21 added.

“A certified metro transit moment lol,” local /u/rosedragooon piled on.

In Brooklyn Center (handled by Hennepin County), failing to stop at a stop sign is typically cited under state law, and the Hennepin Violations Bureau gives an example total of about $128 for a stop-sign violation (example breakdown: $50 base fine + $75 state surcharge + $3 Hennepin law-library fee). (Minnesota Courts)

Local condensed fine schedules also list “Disobey stop sign/semaphore” at $135 (including surcharges), so the exact total can vary by court/judge.
