This speeding BMW, going at least 90 MPH, met its match when it came side-to-side with a reckless lane changer.
Springfield-area driver and Redditor /u/DaddyThiccThighz shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier last week (Dec 3, 2025) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a driver in a BMW M4, swerving through traffic, coming side-to-side with a reckless lane changer who looks like they don’t even check their mirrors before changing lanes.

The incident happened on I-95 just before Exit 196A-B towards Franconia & Springfield (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As the dashcam shows, OP is driving on the 95 in the slow lane well below the speed limit.
To his left, we see a driver in a green BMW M4 pass them, speeding through traffic. This Redditor pegged the BMW at 90 MPH.
“This vehicle traveled across five cycles of white dashes on the road within a single second, maybe a second and a half if we are being generous. A white dash is 10 ft long, and the gap from one dash to the next is 30 ft long. He drove through five cycles of dashes within 1.5 seconds, or 200 ft/1.5 seconds. This is approximately 90 mph or more. There is no realistic expectation to assume someone around you would be driving at that speed,” said /u/brakeled, who did the math.
Unfortunately for them, as they attempt to squeeze past a driver in what looks like a Honda CR-V (or a Volvo Hatch), the CR-V driver does a no-look lane change, essentially changing lanes with little warning.
The BMW driver is forced to take evasive maneuvers above normal speed limits and manages to squeeze behind another driver in the next lane.
However, this sudden swerve is uncorrectable, sending the BMW M4 straight towards the side of the freeway into a shoulder.
The BMW M4 crashes its passenger side rear into the shoulder, hard.
“Ironically, there is a 55 mph speed limit posted right before he slammed into a wall going 35 mph over.”
Thankfully, the BMW driver recovers, and their car appears to be the only thing damaged.
“Green BMW was going too fast and overreacted to the idiot in the black hatchback changing lanes without checking. A couple of idiots in this video,” the top comment from /u/mfinn999 reads.
In Virginia, driving 90 mph in a 55 mph zone (20+ mph over) is a 6‑point violation. (drivinglaws.org)
