If that wasn’t bad enough, a follow truck driver had the nerve to try to cross the red light, too.
Tulsa-area driver and Redditor /u/TradBrahUSA shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier last week (Dec 7, 2025) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing at least one impatient driver trying to turn across an intersection despite having a red for four full seconds at that point.
Check out the dashcam footage embedded below with the original Reddit thread linked here.
The incident happened at the intersection of East 51st Street South and S Yale Ave (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As the dashcam shows, OP is stopped on East 51st waiting for the green light.
Turners to the left and directly across from him finally get the red to stop.
As is often the case, a few daring and reckless drivers enter just as their light turns red.
Defensive drivers often take a beat before proceeding because of this bad habit.
After taking a beat and after a good 4 seconds, OP starts to cross, giving the few, stragging red light runners a good honking.
Regardless, a driver in a white Chrysler 300M has the gall to still cross and almost gets themselves T-boned hadn’t OP stopped in time.
It’s hard to make out, but another driver following the Chrysler in a white HD Silverado was about to run the red, too, but stops after seeing what plays out in front of him.
“Sometimes I feel like driving a sacrificial vehicle and teaching some lessons,” one of the top comments from /u/ranoutofbacon reads.
“It’s amazing how much people value their own time over the safety and well-being of others, especially when it’s just to save a minute or two. I really should’ve been a traffic cop,” /u/Extension-Addition84 added.
“BAN LEADING LEFT TURN ARROWS!…..they are the devil’s workshop!…..LAGGING LEFT TURN ARROWS save lives and reduce accidents!!……truth!!,” /u/Fun_Telephone_1165 suggests.
In the Tulsa Police Department / Oklahoma Department of Public Safety (the state that covers Tulsa), running a red light — or failing to obey a red‑light signal — typically adds 2 points to your driving record. (Wirth Law Office)
It can also lead to a fine (often ~$200–$250 in Tulsa) and, if you rack up 10 or more points within five years, your license could be suspended. (Hunsucker Legal Group)
