A reckless Infiniti driver squeezed between two vehicles for no good reason & causing a collision before running because of course they would.
Hartford-area commuter and Redditor /u/EccentricNarwhal shared infuriating dashcam footage from earlier this week (Jan 13, 2026) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a reckless Infiniti driver squeezing between his vehicle and a vehicle to his left in a dangerous high-speed maneuver for no good reason, making contact before running.
Here’s the dashcam video below with the original Reddit thread linked here.
[OC] CT 2026 01 13. Idiot squeezed between me and another car. Luckily neither of us ended up in the wall

The incident happened on Interstate 84 just after Exit 46 and 47 onto Sisson Avenue and Signourey Street (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As the dashcam shows, OP is headed westbound on I-84 in the slow lane.
Although he’s in the slow lane, he begins to pass a driver going a few MPH slower in Lane #3.
Suddenly, a driver in a dark colored Infiniti approaches at a high rate of speed from behind and threads the needle between his vehicle and the RAV-4 he’s closed on.
There isn’t enough room, and the Infiniti driver makes contact with what looks like his rear quarter panel crashing into the front of OP’s fender and who knows what else on the RAV-4.
That Infiniti driver had no intention of slowing or stopping, as we can see them hit-and-run their way past them into the distance.
“…he didn’t stop,” OP replied to a comment asking if the hit-and-runner eventually slowed.
“Likely a stolen vehicle, out for a joy ride,” /u/cww60 hypothesized.
“He was shooting the gap regardless of how wide it was,” /u/Grant_Winner_Extra astutely presumed.
In Connecticut, leaving the scene of an accident (hit‑and‑run) where property damage occurs is a Class A misdemeanor punishable by up to **364 days in jail, a fine up to about *$2,000*, and at least a *90‑day driver’s license suspension*, and more serious injuries can elevate it to felony charges with higher fines and longer suspensions. (Connecticut General Assembly)
For aggressive driving or reckless behaviors such as unsafe lane changes and other major violations related to a crash, you can also face criminal charges and points (often 3–5 for reckless/improper passing) on your license, which accumulate toward possible DMV suspension if you hit thresholds like 10 points.
