This driver in a Corolla had the ability to simply not block this intersection, but they couldn’t help themselves.

San Francisco driver and Redditor /u/OfferOwns shared headshaking dashcam footage from the City from earlier in January (Jan 17, 2026) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing this ignorant driver not only block a 4-way, but roll into it all casual like.

Check out the rage-inducing dashcam footage embedded below with the original Reddit thread linked here.

The incident happened at the intersection of Tennessee St. and 18th St. (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As the dashcam shows, OP is driving northbound on Tennessee St. and comes up to the aforementioned intersection to turn left.

If you didn’t already know, like this driver, drivers crossing a 4-way stop can only do so if they have room to completely make it across.

In other words, you are not allowed to enter an intersection if your exit is blocked.

As OP’s about to turn onto 18th, a driver in a white Corolla disregards the rules of the road and crawls across OP’s path before coming to a complete stop.

With nowhere to go, OP is forced to wait for a space to open up before he can complete his turn.

A driver in a Camry can be seen to OP’s left waiting, like this Corolla owner was supposed to do.

This Camry is doing it right, waiting for a space to open up before crossing.

And yes, this is the passenger in the Corolla did exactly what you think she did with her hand gesture.

She’s giving OP The Bird despite being in the wrong.

“This is when I wish you could just ram into them and push them out of the way,” the top comment from /u/ShadySphincter0 reads.

“Somehow I knew they were gonna flip you off, I could feel it,” /u/javier1zq added.

That’s where you pull right up to their door and lean on the horn,” /u/PithecanThropus88 suggested.

In San Francisco, California, driving into and blocking an intersection (“blocking the box”) when you can’t clear it is a moving violation under California law (often enforced locally as a gridlock/blocking‑the‑box offense). Under the California anti‑gridlock rule, a citation for blocking an intersection is treated as a moving violation with a base fine around $285 plus fees and typically results in 1 point on your DMV record.
