A crazy driver makes a U-turn across 3 lanes of opposing traffic from a right-turn-only lane.

Mooresville-area driver and Redditor /u/SteveLonegan shared truly unhinged dashcam footage from earlier this week (Feb 24, 2026) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing this piece of work behind the wheel making a crazy U-turn across multiple lanes of opposing traffic from a right-turn-only lane.

The incident happened along Bluefield Rd at the intersection with River Highway (exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As the dashcam shows, OP is headed southbound on Bluefield towards the aforementioned intersection.

Suddenly, a driver in a black Kia Sorento, in the far right, right-turn-only lane, can be seen signaling left before busting a U-turn, across three lanes of opposing traffic, and less than 20 feet away from OP, too.

OP emergency brakes to avoid t-boning them before the Sorento driver eventually completes their highly illegal U-turn, now headed northbound on Bluefield.

“Just wanted to give you a wee bit of excitement on your midnight drive, is all,” one of the top comments from /u/JackHammerQwert reads.

“idk if it’s shi**y luck, but I see this type of stuff all the time down south and even up north now. I’ve never posted anything before, but I’m fed up and wanna shame these idiots. Maybe they’ll see themselves posted and stop. Could just be wishful thinking,” OP replied to a comment asking why they posted it mere hours after the incident happened.
