This Chiba based rental car company will let you rent a brand-spankin’ new 2018 Honda Civic Type R for a little over $100, no mileage limits included.

Do you find yourself stuck in Japan a “stone’s throw” from Tokyo somewhere in the Chiba prefecture and have nothing to do with the day? Why not rent this 2018 Honda Civic Type R for the day for a bit of spirited driving in the country where the Type R badge got its name. According to Omoshiro Rent a Car on its Facebook post from earlier today (Nov. 21, 2017) it looks like there home office just got one of Honda’s hottest hatchbacks, the fire-breathing Honda Civic Type R, for you to rent. With options ranging from 6-hours all the way to a full day’s rental experience, you can’t find a better deal for such a fun car. Check out their Facebook post below.

Rates for this car are also located on their official website. The minimum rental time is 6 hours.

  • 6 hours- $117
  • 9 Hours- $146
  • 24 hours- $204
  • A nighttime stint- $117
  • Additional hours up to 24 Hours- $146
  • Collision Damage Waiver- $19

As you can see, the prices are pretty fair for the amount of time you’re going to be having with this car. Based on the location of their home office in Chiba, you’re within driving distance of Tokyo and are presumably within spitting distance of some good driving roads. Also, being away from major cities might have its advantages, not being near to traffic that might take up most of your rental time.

Although we get the Honda Civic Type R here in the United States, how cool would it be to take this 306 HP and 300 lb-ft FWD monster around Japan sitting on arguably the best side, the right side. I can think of few better things to do with my time in Japan then to sample some of the local roads.

Their website is very informative and has everything you need to know before arriving including you having your international drivers permit, as well as other documents, in order.

Even if you don’t plan to buy a Civic Type R here in the United States, at least you can brag to your friends that you drove an RHD example in Japan of all places, an experience not easily topped.
