It’s OK to feel upset that your bus driver missed your stop. It’s not OK to unleash an attack on your bus driver in retaliation.

Underpaid, overworked, and understaffed, bus drivers in busy cities can have one of the most stressful jobs in the world. So when this particular bus driver in China was suddenly attacked by a woman passenger while driving across a river, his anger got the best of him causing his bus to drive off the bridge, killing 13. As per the BBC on their latest update on the situation that’s got Chinese netizens in an uproar earlier today (Nov 2, 2018) CCTV footage retrieved from the bus shows the final fatal seconds before the bus plunged into the river below, off a passenger bridge.

A passenger got into an actual fight with the bus driver! Check out the frightening footage below.

As of this writing, while 13 are confirmed dead, that number could rise to 15 as there are two passengers that are missing.

The unofficial story is that this passenger was upset that her bus driver missed his stop. The woman then begins to fight the bus driver, taking things from verbal to physical. Footage from a car going in the opposite direction shows the bus veering off the center lane and into traffic, and ultimately, into the river. Police are calling it an accident.

Outraged commenters are placing part of the blame on the bus driver as it really looks like this bus driver intentionally turned the steering wheel in retaliation. One theory that’s defending the bus driver is that he veered into the other lane of traffic while he was involved in said passenger confrontation and couldn’t correct in time.

It’s always easy to say that, in hindsight, you shouldn’t do anything out of anger, but you really shouldn’t do anything out of anger, especially when you have the lives of other people under your protection.

It’s worth mentioning that while the bus is in motion, it is not the time or place to get into a fight, especially with your conductor.

It’s an awful situation, overall.

If there’s any lesson to be learned it’s that it’s OK to be upset but there are proper ways to protest and unleash your emotions that doesn’t endanger the lives of others.

Hopefully, this tragedy will serve as a reminder to people to please be kind to each other as we don’t know what everyone is going through.
