If you want a good idea what the 2020 Honda Fit will probably look like, this rendering is probably what to expect.
The Honda Fit is due for a major upgrade in a big way which we’re pretty sure means a new platform, updated looks, new engines, and more technology. So far we’ve got some spy shots of the 2020 Honda Fit from Japan but now we’ve got some official looking renderings from one of Japan’s favorite tabloid car magazines, Best Car Japan Magazine, that surfaced earlier this week (Nov. 29,2018) which combines the best of what we’ve seen from said spy shots, the current design language of the Honda lineup, as well as insider information on what’s been seen behind closed doors.
Check out the renderings below.

Overall, Honda will retain the Honda Fit shape that we’ve come to know and love throughout the years. Honda obviously has a winning formula on their hands with a teardrop-shaped, aerodynamic small five-door hatch.
As the renderings show, for 2020, expect the Honda Fit to introduce a radically new front nose that, as mentioned, will further identify this Fit as part of the current Honda lineup. This rendering really has gone above and beyond with their interpretation of Honda’s single chrome bar across the grille, which seems to be an essential Honda signature styling cue right now but I don’t think Honda will go that wild with how big this rendering has gone.
Outback, expect Honda to ditch the vertical rear taillights in favor of something along the lines of what we see in the Civic and Accord, meaning horizontal, resembling the letter C.
For under the hood, I’ve blogged about this previously back in August and it looks like our predictions are mostly coming true. Earlier today it was announced that the European Honda HR-V would be getting the 1.5T that’s currently doing work in the Civic heralding a new engine choice that should see it trickle down to the Fit.
As per another recent rumor I wrote about also earlier this year, I predicted that Honda would update the HR-V’s chassis before the Fit but that might not be the case. In fact, it might very well be the other way around.
And, like most of Honda’s lineup right now, this new Fit will get Honda Sensing standard.
The 2020 Honda Fit is definitely getting new looks, probably a new platform underneath, and is likely to get the Civic’s 1.5T.
