All it took was a bit of loose gravel to defeat Godzilla as this R32 Nissan GT-R literally bit the dust, crashing into a fence at this local Texas car meet.

Quoting from someone off Instagram, this GT-R Mustang’d instead of Nissan’ing. If you’ve been on the internet in the last couple years, you’ll know what I mean. Anyways, it was tough goings for this R32 Nissan GT-R at the local Cars and Cantina meet in The Colony, TX as a bit of loose road surface caused the legendary Godzilla to lose traction and spin out of control into a fence.

Check out the handful of videos going viral on Instagram below.

From what I could gather reading a couple of first-hand accounts, it looks like construction was going on across the street and that meant significant amounts of dusting flying across the job site onto the road. For a performance car that puts copious amounts of power to the road, that can spell disaster which is exactly what happened.

It doesn’t look like this is a case of being a hoon and giving it the beans to impress the locals, as is tradition at these kinds of meets but was just a bit of bad luck.

This was a particularly clean R32 Nissan GT-R as this photog caught it pre-crash.

Supposedly the damage is repairable and this R32 Nissan GT-R will be on the road sooner rather than later.

Car meets can be ground zero for crashes whether it’s intentional or not. Driver or spectator, keep your wits about you at all times.
