This tire shop mechanic got the shock of his life when a customer with dually tires came in with a real deal tortoise stuck between its wheels.

When you mix wildlife and man, while we do our best to coexist peacefully with mother nature, accidents like this one are sometimes unavoidable. As per a tire mechanic named Jim Scott presumably in Maine, a customer came in with a real life tortoise wedged between a semi-trailer dually tire with no way to unwedge himself. Check out the handful of photos making their rounds on social media below.

I really wish I had more information for all y’all on the fate of this tortoise but, at the moment, I don’t have any more than what this caption reads.

I am, however, working on a lead on Facebook (A.K.A. asking a dude that posted this on Maine Animals Facebook Group) that will hopefully lead me to the original post where I can bring you more details.

At the very least we can see that this turtle is alive as of whenever this photo was taken. One keen commenter on Facebook pointed out that this tortoise’s carapace, or its hard upper shell, is still somewhat intact although severely damaged. With the right care and if there aren’t internal injuries or an infection, there’s a strong possibility this tortoise can survive.

I can’t imagine this Jim Scott fellow not trying his best to rehab this turtle as best he can. But, as I said, I’m working on getting in contact with the original poster to find out this tortoise’s fate.

Some kind man who owns Delane’s Exotics in West Los Angeles even commented on the Instagram post that led me to this story saying he’d care for this Tortoise if he could find more info on its whereabouts.

If you’ve come across my blog post and this story on social media and have more information about this tortoise, let me know in the comments below. If not, leave a comment anyways. Do you think that a tortoise can survive a wild ride between two tires?
