There’s a thin line between bravery and stupidity and this dirt bike rider is on the ragged edge.
Slovakian officials are outraged after video surfaced earlier this week showing a dirt bike rider threading the needle over a bridge. This dirt bike rider isn’t on the road, he’s riding on one of the bridge arches as a path.
Check out the heart pounding video on Reddit below.
The video is only 22 seconds long but watching it seems like an eternity. I don’t blame this dirt bike rider, taking such an enormous risk on this bridge. For one, there’s no barrier stopping him from riding on the bridge arch, it’s wide open to anyone who wants to walk on it, or in this case, ride over it.
Apparently this hasn’t been an issue until now thanks to this viral video as evidence.
This is your standard arch bridge over a river, nothing fancy. It is already high from the bottom of the river to the bridge up above. Riding on top of the arches is probably adding another 75 feet. At the peak of the arches, I’d estimate this dirt bike rider is seven stories high. Surviving a fall from that high is unimaginable.
Keen eyes will notice a van at the end of the bridge. My guess is that’s his getaway plan if the rozzers catch wind of what he’s up to.
Riding on top of bridge arches isn’t something new. A quick search on Youtube reveals a handful of other daredevils.
This one’s even on GoPro’s official channel.
Skilled dirt bike riders are some of the most skilled sportsmen out there, able to place their bikes where they want them.
I can only assume this dirt bike rider is 100 percent confident in his skills to even attempt this hare-brained stunt.
While it might be possible to pull this off on a regular mountain bike, using a powered bike takes away the “getting tired halfway-up” variable.
Still, this is incredibly dangerous and I wouldn’t advocate this type of stunt in any shape or form.
Can you imagine driving along and seeing a dirt bike putting along on top of the bridge? No one would believe what you saw.
