This Lexus driver can’t seem to comprehend she’s in a vehicle several feet wide that needs ample room to turn.

Redditor TurboCompProp caught the amazing moment on dash cam in The City of Industry, California when a Lexus driver rolled into his BMW, the other driver not able to comprehend that you can’t drive through objects but have to drive around them.

After 8 years of having a dash cam, I finally have something worthy to upload. It’s almost as if she was waiting for me so she can ram into me. from r/IdiotsInCars

As TurboCompPro’s Reddit thread title says, it’s been close to a decade he’s had a dash cam rolling, thankfully without incident. Sure, he’s probably caught another bad driver doing something wrong, but never directly affecting him. But his patience paid off.

We can see in the video TCP approaching a driveway, turning right into a bunch of wholesale warehouse places. This Lexus SUV, the driver probably preoccupied with her phone, is stationary in the middle of the driveway. The only problem is that she’s taken up the entire driveway space. There’s nowhere for TCP to turn into.

Here’s the location on Google Maps.

According to TCP,

She was in the middle of the driveway. My rear wheel would’ve had to climb the curb if I continue turning in at a steeper angle.

At least this Lexus driver was cooperative with TCP and the police however the aftermath of the crash proved to be just as strange as the crash itself.

She didn’t say a word to me. Just backed up into a spot. I called the police. Took 30 minutes to come out. We just exchanged info and I just called their insurance to report it.

I heard the cop telling her like 4 times that I had the right of way. I also have 2 witnesses in case she didn’t think she was at fault.

Avoiding collisions like this means sharing the road. The driveway is big enough for one car to enter and exit given you’re on your side of the driveway.

If you’re wondering, he’s using a Garmin Dash Cam 45. You can find them on Amazon for around $100, a steal that should pay for itself if something ever goes wrong.

Don’t make the mistake this Lexus driver did. Plan your turns accordingly and stay in your lane.
