It’s called the Emperor, and this is how you rock like a king, JDM style.

If you’re not innovating as a company, you might as well be standing still. Bride Japan’s taken that cliche to heart and is venturing into uncharted territory, wood furniture! According to a press release they dropped earlier today (Jan. 20,2021) they are now taking orders on their Rocking Chair Base code named Emperor for 69,000 Yen or about $665 USD.

Bride Japan has partnered with Woodwork Den, a master woodworking artisan in Yaizu City, Suzuoka Prefecture, to deliver these bespoke rocking chair bases. Apparently, you tell bride what reclining bride seat you have and Bride will custom order a wooden base for you.

Check out there announcement and some photos below.

Since Woodwork Den is handcrafted only, Bride can only make 10 per month so, if you want one, you’d better contact them A.S.A.P.

According to Bride,

By combining with the BRIDE reclining seat, you can enjoy exquisite and comfortable fluctuations in your living room or office.

Let’s face it, few people think of how enjoyable a rocking chair session can be because, frankly, rocking is an old people-only activity. Ask any “rockers” and they’ll tell you how relaxing, invigorating, and slightly euphoric a good rocking can do for you. In a fast-paced digital world, we can use another form of meditation that rocking induces.

This new rocking chair base turns rocking onto its head and makes it sort of cool.

How unfortunate that the only years of our life we get to enjoy rocking is when we’re infants until we can’t walk anymore. It’s time boomers, millennials, Gen X, and zillenials re-discover how relaxing rocking can be.

And, if it takes a dope wooden JDM rocking chair base from Bride to do it, I’m all for it.
