Only you can prevent Mustang-like wrecks exiting a car show.
Ahh, Spring is in the air and that means the return of car shows. It also means the unfortunate return of car show exit crashes ala Ford Mustang thanks to a potent cocktail of male ego, cold tires, and sidewalks full of attendees.
And, it looks like the car show season’s claimed its first victim.
Footage shared by Instagram user @RickyOhh earlier today shows a one-of-a-kind Nissan GT-R losing traction and crashing into a tree exiting the Central Car Club Spring Charity Car Show held at Central Connecticut State University.
Here are three videos of the crash and scenes from the aftermath on TikTok.
Apparently, this particular Varis R35 also won Best of Show, too.
I apologize for the cringe TikTok voice-over.

Although I’m only working off the video, it’s safe to assume that cold tires and “giving it the gas” in the middle of a corner contributed to this GT-R losing traction.
The overcorrection meant the GT-R driver hit the tree driver’s side first.
Thankfully, the GT-R’s airbags worked as expected.
I have not come across any reports of the driver’s condition and, since no news is good news, I’m going to assume he made it out OK.
The owner of the GT-R has self-identified himself as @safran_NVP.
@safran_NVP had this to say for himself regarding the crash and the GT-R’s future.

If you’re wondering, this is how much a legit Varis aero kit will run you. At several thousand, it, and the car (with its extensive damage), are presumably both complete insurance write-offs.

What his GT-R looked like before the crash.
Even the best AWD system in the world can’t save a supercar and its driver with cold tires from losing traction and overcorrecting.
And let this be a reminder to all you car show attendees, don’t attempt a burnout or superfast exit when you leave, that is, unless you want to go viral for crashing.
