Want to know why mid to late ’00s Infiniti owners get such a bad rap? Case in point, this video. Reddit user /u/Bobby-McShabi posted up a hilarious video on the /r/WinStupidPrizes subreddit showing a supposed Infiniti G35 owner christening his new whip by busting out fat burnouts in this empty parking lot in Irving, Texas. His burnout session ended as soon as it started as his VQ under the hood cried uncle, grenading itself mid-burnout.

Engine implosion aside, for cheap, albeit illegal, summertime parking lot entertainment, this Infiniti owner laid it down.
In the video you can hear this new Infiniti owner wasn’t scared to bring his V6 to its rev limit and keep it there.
From the time the video starts to when his engine taps out I counted four complete donuts with bits of rubber and tire smoke flying from his rear LingLongs.
Burnouts, in particular, are extremely bad because, thanks to centrifugal forces, if all your oil sloshes to one side, there’s a good chance that lubricating and cooling liquid won’t make it to the oil pickup and to your engine when it needs it the most.
I’m no expert but it sounds like his engine eventually threw a rod.
With his cooling system already stretched to its limits, not to mention every other single part of the powertrain and drivetrain under extreme stress, it was not a matter of if but when.
And, who knows what the previous owner did to this Infiniti, they’re known to live extremely hard and fast lives.
To Infiniti’s credit, VQ V6’s are one of the best engines they’ve made, literally making Ward’s 10 best engines from 2002-2007 and once more in 2016.
But, when you push one with a presumed sketchy history, this is what can happen.
Let’s hope, for his sake, he wasn’t making payments, because if he was, they’ll still want their cut every month, car running or not.
