The victim says the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and Maryland State Police know about this video and either did nothing or don’t care.

Marylander and Redditor /u/Seven_Sparrow shared a nightmare of a dashcam video to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit from I-95 in Cecil County, MD from an incident in 2021 showing a semi-truck driver actively doling out revenge on him, driving him off the road twice and brandishing a hammer at him, all because he honked at him for drifting into his lane.

After actively seeking justice for this blatant account of road rage from both the Federal Trucking Authority (aka the FMCSA) and the Maryland State Police for several years and getting nowhere, /u/Seven_Sparrow is taking to social media to spread the word.

As mentioned, the incident happened on a several-mile stretch of I-95 (John F Kennedy Memorial Hwy) in Cecil County with a large portion of the road rage in the city of Elkton, MD. (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

From the beginning of the video to 1:40, we can see OP driving in the fast lane, speeding away from a semi truck driver who, moments before, had drifted into his lane.

OP admits he did honk at him to get his attention and to avoid a collision.

“Trucker swerved into my lane, I honked and sped away to put some distance between us.”

At 1:40, we see that semi-truck driver with a trailer appear and actively tries to force OP from the middle lane towards lane #1 and into the shoulder.

The first time he tries to run him off the road.

Now, in the middle lane, that same semi-truck driver pulls beside him, as seen at 2:48, and forces OP, again, into the shoulder on the other side.

This time it’s a “success.”

The second time he forces OP off the road, “successfully.”

Had a car been stopped on that shoulder, it could’ve ended disastrously.

OP manages to merge back onto I-95 safely and follows the offending semi-truck driver from a safe distance.

“He then hunted me down and ran me off the road. Thinking we collided, I stopped behind him while on the phone with 911.”

At 4:25, the semi-truck driver pulls to the side of the road, and OP follows.

The semi-truck driver emerges from his cab holding a hammer in his right hand.

We see him raise the hammer just before he goes off-screen.

He approaches OP with a hammer.

Words are presumably exchanged before the driver goes back to his truck, climbs back in, and drives off.

“Never impeded his movement, there was plenty of room on the road for us all. If he wanted to pass me, he could have easily done so.”

And, that’s where the video ends.

Several Redditors gleaned identifying information from the video.

Another Redditor went even further, finding publically available information saying this particular semi-truck has been in three other crashes.

“Legal company name: Bonivuk Logistics Inc, mailing address 5437 S 72ND CT SUMMIT, IL 60501 , the vehicle has been in 3 crashes involving injury, none fatal,” /u/KimikoBean commented.

As mentioned, OP did everything he could to report this driver, but nothing has happened.

“I submitted a complaint to the VMCSA and police and never heard back from them. This happened almost 3 years ago.”

He even submitted it to the employer, BONIVUK Logistics, and their two insurance companies with a similar response.

“The employer did not care. They know about this.”

“Reckless driving and brandishing weapon, Since the local police didn’t do anything from the video or evidence, take it to local news. The company that owns the truck and trailer will have an aneurysm from the bad PR.” /u/WarCraft_Fan suggested.

“Also if the DOT number is visible anywhere, take it to the local DOT office. It doesn’t matter who was driving, DOT will issue a hefty fine plus if the driver is ID’d, bye-bye CDL for life.”

It sounds like OP might have the option to report this trucker to a handful of other federal or state-level authorities, but it looks like their reactions might be the same.

Now, OP is just trying to make this semi truck driver and Bonivuk Logistics famous.

“We captured the company details on camera and I reported it to the police & FMCSA, and two years later, nothing happened. So, it’s time to make them famous.”

“The company name on the truck is Bonivuk.”

A quick Google search reveals that Bonivuk Logistics has a social media presence (linked here) and seems to be based out of Chicago, IL.

This is my blog post which, admittedly doesn’t have much of a reach.

Hopefully, this Redditor’s dashcam video and my blog post reach other local news outlets in the Chicago and Maryland region with much larger audiences, where another journalist might be able to shed more light on this blatant road rage that demands more justice than being ignored.

If you want this wronged driver to get the justice he seeks, share this blog post with as many people as you can.
