The cargo van is connected to KW Construction based out of Rockland, Mass.

Massachusettsan and Redditor /u/dominationdevil shared frustrating dashcam footage from Weymouth, Mass from earlier this July (July 7, 2024) showing the moment a driver in a KW Construction Van rode up on his bumper, presumably in retaliation for refusing to move up into the part of the intersection blocked off to accommodate turners with the right of way.

Check out the dashcam footage below.

The incident happened in Weymouth near the 1000 block of Massachusetts Route 18 (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As OP’s dashcam footage shows, he’s stopped on MA-18 where he’s supposed to, just before the white cross-hatching before the intersection area where cars are prohibited from stopping.

In OP’s rear dashcam video, we can see the front bumper of a KW Construction Van (License Plate 4KRN 99), based out of Rockland, Mass, riding up on OP’s rear bumper in what looks like a show of intimidation and road rage to get OP to move up and enter the “Do not block intersection” area.

OP doesn’t relent, which only seems to enrage the KW Construction Van driver.

The KW Construction Van driver backs up, goes around OP, enters the “Do Not Block Intersection” area, and drives by.

Ironically, a left turner appears and is partially blocked by the KW Construction Van crossing, demonstrating why that part of the intersection is blocked off.

The KW Construction Van driver continues through, enters the right turn lane, and gives OP what looks like the middle finger.

In Massachusetts, it’s against the vehicle code to block a “Do not block” part of the intersection. If caught, violators are subject to a $150 fine.

“This is actually way better than it used to be, people used to weave between cars to take a left out of there when it was Foodmaster, ” local Mass Redditor /u/hampsterlamp commented.

“Weymouth MA? That whole area is absolutely ****ed, 18 is a nightmare of merges and unmerges. That bit on the road blocking traffic is BRAND new as well (wasn’t there 6 months ago).” /u/sarevok9 added.

“South Shore MA truly is driving hell,” /u/hoagielover68 replied.

OP did everything right in this situation and did not further engage the road rager.

Thankfully, nothing came of this situation.

But, is this level of road rage and frustration even justified?

It rarely ever is.
