This Ford Super Duty Owner saved all of 30 seconds, but wrecked his lawn and might’ve hit a kid, too, in the process.

Texan and Redditor /u/Ledge26 shared headshaking dashcam footage to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit from earlier this week (Sept 3, 2024) from Tomball, TX showing an impatient driver in a ginormous Ford Super Duty Truck drive over a sidewalk and wreck his front lawn to bypass a line of cars waiting for a school bus dropping off kids to leave.

Here’s the dashcam footage of this super patient Super Duty driver below.

One word for this person – starts with a C & ends with a T [OC]

The incident happened in the 16000 block of Lakewood Field Dr in Tomball, TX (exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As the dashcam footage shows, /u/Ledge26 is waiting, with his daughter as passenger, on Lakewood Field Dr. for a school bus letting off kids to continue on its way.

The presumed resident of the house in front of OP, in his Ford Super Duty truck, is blocked from entering his driveway by said line of cars.

Impatient, the resident takes matters into his own hands and uses his truck to hop the sidewalk, cross the sidewalk path, and angle himself into his driveway.

At that time, the school bus stop lights and stop sign were still flashing, so, this driver pulled this move while kids were potentially still being let out.

The driver saved, at most, 35 seconds, as, after half a minute, the school bus flashing lights are seen turned off, the bus continuing on its way.

“The truck wasn’t patiently waiting behind me and just got annoyed after a few minutes. They sped round the bend behind me and just simply didn’t want to wait 20 seconds. The bus was there for maybe 60-90 seconds if that…The truck showed up 39 seconds into its stop,” OP clarified.

In such a rush, you’d think the resident would jump out of his truck and head inside, but such is not the case as he (whoever he is) stays in his truck, presumably embarrassed by his hot-headed actions.

If that wasn’t bad enough, although his truck can fit into his driveway without blocking the pedestrian walkway, he rolls back and blocks it anyway (another violation of the Texas Transportation Code.)

“Pretty sure that’s the closest that ‘4 wheel drive’ has been to off-road since it was purchased,” /u/GrimSpirit42 commented.

“And then parks to block the sidewalk. Dips***,” /u/Evening-Sir6460 added.

“What’s crazy is even after everyone drives away they are still sitting in the truck? So much impatience only to sit there even longer,” said /u/MrBalll.

Not only was what this Tomball, TX resident did against the rules of the road and common sense, but it was potentially dangerous, too.

A dangerous move, driving over a sidewalk as kids are being let out.

From this angle, likely, this driver did not have a clear view of pedestrians potentially coming across his direction of travel.

The half a minute saved is not worth the potential consequences of what’s arguably a reckless driving maneuver.
