These cars were caught on dashcam driving as slow as 39 MPH and swerving to exchange what looked like a cigarette or blunt.

Presumed First State Resident and Redditor /u/Zelda1212 shared truly headshaking dashcam footage to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit from earlier this September (Sept 1, 2024) showing two careless drivers slowing down to way too slow speeds on I-95 to exchange what looks like a cigarette or blunt between them both.

The incident happened going down I-95 South in Wilmington just before Exit 5C which branches off to 295 North (exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As her dashcam footage shows, she’s driving along I-95 South when two cars in lanes 1 and 2 suddenly slow down to way below the speed limit.

It’s 65 MPH in this area, and the two cars slow to about 40.

The passenger in the Honda Accord in Lane #1 can be seen passing what looks like a cigarette or its marijuana equivalent to the driver in the Dodge Magnum in Lane #2.

At 24 seconds we can see the driver in the Dodge Magnum swerve, coming close to drifting into Lane #3.

“What the f*** is this? You gotta be f***ing kidding me,” she says before overtaking both cars in the rightmost lane.

This falls into careless driving, punishable by a fine of no less than $100 before fees, not to mention points on your record.

“It was a joint. Trust me on this. ‘-),” /u/sfear70 commented.

“Obviously they were passing Grey Poupon,” /u/AThrowawayProbrably humorously added.

The lack of coordination aside, careless driving is harmless, until it’s not.

If either made contact with each other, both would’ve lost control resulting in damage to their cars, injuries, or worse.

For a joint? It’s not worth it.

If you want to pass something between each other, doing it while both cars are moving is just plain dumb.
