This driver in a mid-’90s Honda Accord sedan was caught on dashcam casually reversing backward down an Oakland center turn lane.
Bay Area commuter and Redditor /u/eohsee shared headshaking dashcam footage from Oakland from earlier in February (Feb 14, 2025) showing an idiot (or a troubled genius) driving their mid-’90s Honda Accord sedan in reverse down the center turn lane.
And, when they got to an intersection, they ran the red light in reverse, too.
A strange dashcam encounter, for sure.

The incident happened along Foothill Blvd and at the intersection with 48th Ave (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As OP’s dashcam footage shows, he’s driving along Foothill Blvd when suddenly, a driver can be seen passing them, in reverse, down the center turn lane.
Idiocy aside, they seem quite adept at this driving style as they manage to not lose control.
And, when they get to the intersection, they blow past the red light, too, piling on top of an already illegal driving maneuver.
“So smooth it looked like a video game glitch,” /u/Foxbatt commented.
“Nice try OP, you’ve obviously just reversed the video,” /u/hypnogoad hilariously added.
“If I had to guess, this moron has a busted transmission and didn’t want to pay for a tow truck. Absolutely insane,” /u/MrSmithSmith hypothesized.
Driving in the center turn lane more than 200 feet is a violation of CVC 21460.5, violators are subject to a fine of $238 before fees and one point on your record.
Running a red light is subject to a fine of between $300-$600 with all the fees and one point on your record.
Witnesses to this particular driving buffoonery are encouraged to call 9-1-1 ASAP as this driver is likely not only an idiot under the influence, but his actions are putting the lives of their fellow drivers in danger, too.

Been here, 35 years and these animals will destroy their own homes their own neighborhoods everything around them and then will complain at length About how they’re not respected, about how they don’t have nice things compared to other neighborhoods, about how the system is against them…and im like tell you what, keep your pants up around your waiste and not dragging at your heels and dont urinate publicly for 24 hours and maybe just maybe youll see an attitude shift from the world around you in your favor
