This Prius driver looks like they knew they were getting pulled over, but adding on a red light ticket and increasing your risk of getting into an accident is wild.

Oklahoma City Commuter (police officer?) and Redditor /u/ThatFellaNick shared headshaking dashcam footage from what looks like a police cruiser from earlier this week (Apr 17, 2025) to the /r/WhatCouldGoWrong subreddit showing a driver in a Toyota Prius just blow through a red light with a cop right behind them.

Check out the video embedded below with the original Reddit thread linked here.

The incident happened on a Lake Hefner Parkway off-ramp (OK-74) that intersects NW 122 St (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)

As the dashcam video shows, the driver is following a police cruiser who, in turn, is right on the tail of a driver in a Toyota Prius.

It looks an awful lot like the Prius driver already did something citeable on OK-74 and… was trying to run?

Regardless, we see the Prius driver blow through a red light while making a left turn.

Thankfully, there was light cross traffic, and both the Prius and the officer made it across unscathed.

The police officer put on their reds, blues, and tunes, and proceeded to pull over the Prius.

“When he’s right behind you, that is a stark case in point of lack of situational awareness,” one of the top comments from /u/AJ_Deadshow reads.

“Glorious. Watched this happen the other day. I’m crossing a divided street, the light in the neutral ground has just turned green – some p***k blows his red on the other side, if I had been going a little faster would have t-boned me. Cop was directly behind him, lights immediately go on, he pulls over and immediately starts getting out of the car (some older crossover SUV) – I got the F*** out of there because I didn’t want to be around if shooting started,” /u/Dangerous_Wasabi_611 shared.

“Never trust a Prius. They are all ride-share drivers who don’t know the rules of the road and are guaranteed to be talking on the phone their entire shift,” /u/rinkydinkis recommended.

In Oklahoma, running a red light will net you a $250 fine.
