Idiot opted to make a dangerous last-second exit from the far left lane instead of going to the next exit, less than a mile away.
Connecticut Turnpike commuter and Redditor /u/SnooOrange4804 shared headshaking dashcam footage from Fairfield from earlier in April (Apr 18, 2025) showing an idiot driver in a BMW X6 opting to make a dangerous last-second exit almost causing an accident instead of driving less than a mile further down the road to the next exit to re-route.
Check out the embedded Tesla cam footage below with the original Reddit thread linked here.
The incident happened on the Connecticut Turnpike (I-95) at Exit 25 (exact location on Google Maps linked here and overhead of the area posted below)

As OP’s Tesla dashcam footage shows, they’re driving in the slow lane of the Turnpike.
As he passes by the gore point of Exit 25 towards Commerce Dr./State St. an idiot driver in a BMW X6 (License Plate AH 23550) comes from the fast lane and dives towards the exit, straight into the path of OP.
Thankfully, OP takes evasive maneuvers, swerves into the gore point, and avoids getting sideswiped by the idiot.
Of course, the BMW driver makes their exit, driving off.
“Jeez, I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a disregard for other drivers quite so egregious. Who cares if your car is already there? I’m coming over anyway,” the top comment from /u/HobbesNJ reads.
“I’d love to let this person side swipe me so I can get a new car and sue them,” /u/swifty-mcfly wished.
“At that point, it would take every ounce of my being to not chase them down and have a few words,” /u/citznfish added.
In Connecticut, this kind of driving is considered negligent, not necessarily reckless. Violators are subject to a base fine of between $100-$300 for first-time offenders before fees and points on their records.
As a frequent driver on I95 I can attest to the fact that this happens all the time!
So did the driver get fined? Blatant disregard for everyone!
