To no one’s surprise, the driver was in a mid-2000s Nissan Altima aka Big Altima Energy.
I-24 driver and Redditor /u/AllisonMFitness shared dashcam footage from earlier last week (June 6, 2025) to the /r/IdiotsInCars subreddit showing a Nissan Altima driver attempting an aggressive lane change only to lose control and drive off the interstate embankment.
Check out the dashcam footage embedded below with the original Reddit thread linked here.
The incident happened on I-24 just before the 180B exit towards Roseville Blvd (exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As the dashcam footage shows, OP is driving on I-24 in lane #3, one of the middle lanes, when they notice a driver in a beige Nissan Altima come speeding by her in the next lane.
The Altima driver then pulls an aggressive lane change in front of a driver in a white Ford F-150.
The Altima driver yanked their steering wheel a little too forcefully because, in an instant, they lost grip and steered towards the side of the interstate.
Unfortunately, they steered into a section of interstate without guardrails, as they can be seen driving over the embankment towards the Dobbs Branch river below.
OP had no way of finding out if the driver made it out OK.
“(The) U-Haul driver went down there to see if he was OK. I called 911 but couldn’t see his car – I think it was at the bottom of the hill / in the trees.”
“It’s always nice when they don’t ruin some else’s day,” the top comment from /u/DeepMadness reads.
“Speeding and weaving in and out of traffic causes wrecks? Who knew? Not that guy,” /u/TitaniaT-Rex aptly commented.
Letting your emotions get the best of you and transferring those emotions into your actions rarely works out in your favor, especially when you’re behind the wheel.
Hopefully, this driver made it out OK and learned a valuable life lesson.
