This idiot Jeep driver pulls off an extremely dangerous move just so they don’t miss their exit.
Long Island commuter and Redditor /u/PuttyDotExe shared absolutely headshaking dashcam footage from May 2023 from the Meadowbrook State Parkway showing an idiot driver in their Jeep Liberty, instead of missing their exit, opt to dangerously cut off another driver, causing them to drive up onto an embankment before plopping safely down back into the exit lane.
Check out the insane driving maneuver in the video embedded below with the original Reddit thread linked here.
The incident happened off of Exit M1 W towards Old Country Rd Mineola (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As the rear dashcam footage shows, OP is exiting off M1 W.
In the background, you can make out a driver in a Jeep Liberty in Lane #2 of this 4-lane part of MSP, exit across the lane next to the exit lane in front of a driver, across a gore point, and into Exit M1 W.
It would’ve been a slick (illegal) move had it not been for entering the exit lane at such an extreme angle that they were forced to go off-road, drive up an embankment, and back down in a dangerous Tony Hawk-esque maneuver.
Thankfully, perhaps aided by their vehicles’ off-road chops and the other drivers giving the idiot some space, they were able to pull it off.
“It’s a Jeep thing…,” the top comment from /u/pyker42 reads, referencing an oft-said meme when Jeep drivers often do unnecessarily dangerous maneuvers.
“They probably think they are super awesome and will brag about this to their jeep buddies,” /u/TheW83 rightfully piled on.
“PSA: You’re allowed to miss your turn,” /u/JediMasterLeo90 suggested.
I measured, and the next nearest exit is literally just half a mile away.

This is likely an unsafe lane change (to say the least). In New York, violators are subject to a $150 fine before all the fees and three points on their record.
