A driver in an SUV was caught on dashcam speeding towards an intersection and into the wrong direction of traffic.

Santa Clarita commuter and friend of Redditor /u/shmukes_ shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier last month (June 17, 2025) to the /r/MildlyBadDrivers subreddit showing an idiot in what looks like a GMC Acadia speeding towards an intersection, going the wrong way into traffic, and continuing for several yards after.

Check out the dashcam video below with the original Reddit thread linked here.

The incident happened at the intersection of San Francisquito Canyon Rd. and Copper Hill Dr. (location on Google Maps linked here.)

As OP’s friend’s dashcam shows, OP is stopped at the aforementioned intersection waiting for his light to turn green.

When it does, suddenly, a driver in a silver GMC Acadia comes barreling down the left turn lane, which is red at the time.

The idiot driver then swerves into oncoming traffic and threads the needle between a turner and another car coming towards them.

You’d think, perhaps, he wasn’t paying attention and would at least flip a U, but no.

Instead of stopping and correcting, the idiot continues on?

“What the f*** is that guy doing?,” you can hear the driver say.

While this type of behavior might be explained if it were an emergency, all the hospitals in the area are in the opposite direction.

“And they proceed to speed up going the other direction? Bruh, how dumb can you be?” /u/OK-Kat-9991 commented.

“Omg get this idiot off the road,” /u/LuvvlyBabes added.

“The word ‘mildly’ is doing a lot of work in this one,” /u/SkySchemer replied.

Driving on the wrong side of the road will rack up major charges. In California, violators are subject to a fine of up to $10,000 and possible jail time of up to a year.
