The lack of lines on this freshly paved section on 9th was not helping the matter.
Reno-area driver and Redditor /u/RedAlpaca02 shared headshaking dashcam footage from earlier last weekend (Aug 2, 2025) to the /r/MildlyBadDrivers subreddit showing a confused and ignorant driver in their Toyota RAV4 illegally changing lanes in the middle of this intersection, cutting OP off.
Check out the dashcam footage embedded below with the original Reddit thread linked here.
The incident happened at the intersection of E 9th St and Virginia St (Exact location on Google Maps linked here.)
As this bird’s eye view shows, where the dashcam video is, 9th St. transitions from one lane into two.

But, as OP’s title says, this part of 9th had some work recently done, so the lines presumably couldn’t be painted in time.
Regardless, lines or not, it’s still two lanes here.
When they get the green, a driver in a white RAV4 in the left lane scoots in front of OP, changing lanes in the middle of the intersection to do so.
OP honks, but the driver and their passenger couldn’t care less as they made their way into the Jacksons Food Stores Gas Station.
“They … just didn’t give a s***,” the top comment from /u/crasagam reads.
“Had nothing to do with painted lines and everything to do with needing to stop at Jacksons,” /u/Joates87 humously added.
“My god, I’m just realizing how ridiculously those corner entries are for Gas stations / McDonald’s, etc,” /u/Crippledpeasant1 pointed out.
In Nevada, changing lanes in the middle of an intersection is a moving violation subject to a fine of between $100-$400 before all the fees and four points on your record.
